This week is the last week for the Summer 2018 semester. Certainly, this week is also a more appropriate timing as I officially finished the largest series of the George L. Stuart Collection. Forty-five boxes worth of content sorted and relabeled! The satisfaction of finally being able to put Box 45 away and to look forward to a new series is soothing. But, there were some trouble along the way.
As usual, Mondays are my responsibility to clean the fifth floor study hall. Fortunately, I did not have to buy new Lysol wipes as I began cleaning the desks. Unfortunately, there were some desks that were heavily marked and not all of it could be removed. Even more stressing was the discovery of an ant infestation at one of desk groups. Mr. Benjamin had to be notified and he recorded the insects as they were crawling across desks. The whole experience lasted longer than I anticipated: approximately forty minutes.
After returning the cleaning supplies, I fetched Box 44 from the collection with the determination to finish the Senate Files series. The relabeling process was smooth until two large folders of miscellaneous documents were resorted, which caused a longer delay than what I anticipated. Still, Box 44 was finished in due time.
Box 45 was a different story. While the majority of the box was relabeled in good fashion, another box with a vague label was in need of investigation. Fortunately, the contents were organized better than the aforementioned folders in Box 44. But, the collective damage had been done. 12:00 PM had come and I was short seven folders from completion.
However, I was determined to finish the box before I left to go home for the day. Indeed, I finished relabeling approximately at 12:20 PM. Granted, I would have accommodated myself by reshuffling the work hours to extend mine for the day. I decided not to as I felt finishing Box 45 was more important. This would allow Tuesday to be the day where a new series would begin.
Due to my determination, Boxes 44 and 45 are completed and a new series will begin tomorrow. Until then, enjoy the evening and stay safe! Bye!
